2025 Wall of Honor Inductee Senator Nikki Setzler
The Brookland-Cayce High School Education Foundation is thrilled to announce the induction of The Honorable Nikki Giles Setzler into the Alumni Wall of Honor. Setzler is a 1963 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School, where he was a cheerleader and a member of the Yearbook staff, Booster Club, and track team.
He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1968 and the University of South Carolina Law School in 1971. He founded his own law office in 1973, where he continues to practice today as Setzler and Scott in West Columbia.
He was first elected to the South Carolina senate in 1976, holding various roles over 48 years of service, including as Chair of the Senate Education Committee (1988-2000) and as Minority Leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus for eight years.
He and his wife Ada Jane Taylor Setzler, raised their four children in Lexington Two schools and are strong advocates for children and education. Among his community involvement, he has served with the West Metro Chamber of Commerce, Cayce West Columbia Lions Club, and the Lexington County Development Corporation.

Mike Stamps, known as a successful businessman and for constantly giving back to the community and Brookland Cayce High School is the first inductee into the Alumni Wall of Honor. He was a 1969 graduate of Brookland -Cayce known for hiring BC graduates at Southern Anesthesia & Surgical. Throughout his life, he was a constant learner and mentor to many. As a loving family man, he afforded his beautiful wife, Jan, to also serve our community. Even after his death in 2012, his gift of giving through the endowment scholarship continues to benefit Brookland Cayce High School students.
